Hi All,
I may get an offer from a company that is small with limited funding. They are not willing to do my H1B and want me to use EAD. I wanted to keep my H1B valid, but the company will make me pay for it. And given that I will have to apply for extension soon, I will have to pay for it again. So monetarily, its not good for me.
I believe you are thinking you will only get the H1 extended with this new company till Mar 2010 and you will have to apply again.
When you apply for H1 with this new company, you can request for an extension for 3 yrs based on your approved I-140. Just go ahead and apply for H1 using AC21 with a copy of I-140 approval notice. You will get it for 3 more years....No need to use your EAD.

The plan that mirage is talking about is to contact only the lawmakers who are already well versed with immigration.
Now; senators/congressmen who don't have much knowledge and you present to them why the country quota, etc., should be changed; will be given evidence through their research of what is going on with h-1b, labors in fast procesing states, etc., In this environment where there is sentiment against immigration it will fall on deaf ears and maybe even skew things in the future for you with the politicians because they are getting insight into this stuff at the wrong time.

Current Status: Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident.
On August 12, 2008, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before you get your new card call customer service.
Only catch for us is that we are moving next weekend!! I am going to do change of address with USCIS immediately, but in the meanwhile what if they mail documents to my old address? Any suggestions?
Also whats ADIT.
BTW our case was at NSC and priority date is May 2004. Application mailed Aug7th 2007.

I see a pattern here.Looks like the EB2 folks are getting EAD renewals much faster than the EB3 folks.EB3's are getting screwed even here.

This might be too early but something that I notice that is missing is the ability to be able to Self Sponsor for Green Card instead of having to be at the mercy of employers.

My employer is also behaving exactly similar way... Spend the money from your own Pocket ( 350 med + 385 ) around $750 and ask them to just
give the Future Employment Verification Letter for 485.
I'm finishing up all forms and other activities Like Medical , Birth Certificate etc..
After that pounce on your employer for Letter + the fees for 485 + fees for your own attorney fees ... If they disagrees come to a deal with just for the Letter... You are all set then !!
If they still dont agree i'll tell them that you are resigning and immigrating to Canada (Tell them that your Canadian PR is almost approved and you have a distant relative there)

Also, you could open/register your LLC (by spending $400) for your self-employment to sound more "legitimate"--but that's certainly not a requirement.

What is the procedure to the SSA update?
My family do not have SSA? I need to apply for them as well.
It won't take more than 1 hr to get all those. A simple form to be filled out (for a new SSN) and I think SS5 form (please google) for those updating SSN. It's very simple procedure. SSA will need proper ID/ and GC to verify your current status. Card should arrive in 2 weeks...

They have Milked me for 2.5 yrs and still they Milk me for another 9-10 months because my 140 was sent recently and you can't use any AC21 unless 140 is approved.
3.5 Years of Milking is not sufficient for them - they want more , YOU KNOW.

its not just this employer, many f____ employers have same issue they dont want to file 485 and atleast they are trying to delay the process as much as possible. They are fearing that the employees on L visas will have an oppurtunity to switch company if they get their GCs sooner.

I got my receipts by mail on monday and checks cashed last friday. But my wifes did not clear yet. any one in similar situation please post.
My one set of checks cleared last friday & other set yet to be cleared. That might be for me or wife, no idea. So I'm waiting.
How are you so sure that your case checks were cashed & not your wife's just curious.

No, you are twisting what I said. My point is, if you are not willing to help yourself, why do you expect people who are going to be current in a year or so to chip in? You can start helping yourself by becoming a regular donor to IV. That's $25 a month. Imagine 11,000 odd EB people becoming regular donors. Maybe, IV can then run a regular ad in major news network, explaining our plight.
What I am saying is we(EB2&3) will fight together and you are saying that It's your problem and you(EB3) have to work for yourself.So do we have to start a new community called eb3immigrationvoice?

Average worldwide processing time for employment based green card applications is 1.43 years (Priority Date to GC approval).
In simple words, it takes 5.5 years to wrap up the 1 year GC demand for Indian applicants presuming there is no overflow from any other country GC visa quota.

or maybe the official webside accidently copies the India Other workers date to EB3 ;-) . In my 9th grade a real cool dude who sat next to me would say "Man lives in hope and dies in despair"
