I applied on 2nd July and got Receipts on 08/27/2007. Still waiting for the FP notice. There are lot of ppl in the same boat. Take it easy. I called USCIS last week and they opened Service Request for myself and mywife. Call USCIS and ask them to open SR.

From the text I can derive two conclusion either it is directed to undocumented worker or everyone is put in same basket nothing specific about our cause. Apu dont get me wrong I apprerciate your initiative but it should not happen we sign to support Kennedy he comes out as hero for Latino community (did I forget to mention political gain) and we remain where we are and watch those illegals immigrant become US citizen.

Maybe the definition of project managers varies by company. Most PMs I know have maybe around 6-7 years of work experience and I definitely wouldn't classify them as executives or even say that their employment is in the National Interest.
However I do know of some cases where doctors have got NIW based on practicing in an under-served (rural?) area.
Is there a way to prove that one who created a suite of applications without which a business unit will stop functioning comes under National Interest?
Just a thought.

This is exactly the piece-meal approach/bill that several people wanted to support.
But i think IV core is backing CIR.
My 2 cents - CIR ain't happening this year (its almost mid-nov now and health care hasn't even been debated on the floor yer). Even enxt year is a long shot.
Need to back this bill.

IV supports every bill that can get relief to our community. However if the sponsor of the bill is not going to take the bill further or the leadership is not going to take it up, there is no chance for the bill at this time. Some bills are simply placeholder bills or introduced to state a lawmaker's position on an issue. At this time the political situation is favoring CIR and nothing else. However much you try and ask them to try piecemeal approach, the inclination is to pursue CIR. This situation can change with time and piecemeal approach may be pursued if CIR fails. Poor guys... they can give away $7.5 Billion to some country as Aid, but cannot secure their own borders without increasing burden on H1/L1 Visas for $0.6 Billion(not even 10% in comparison ) ....what a pity.... :mad:

One of my friends got his H1 Transferred w/o pay stub. It depends on the lawyer, some can manage to get this done and it also depends on USCIS officer who deals your case. Try to hire a good lawyer and they should be able to help you out.

--I have experienced this myself. You should be fine. Note in Column 15 is going to protect your case. There are 90% chances of not getting any RFE. Even if you do, any english speaking-reading-writing lawyer should get you out of this by writing a simple letter to the Immigration officer at NSC that they should look at column 15 again. They will never come onboard for legals..we have to fight our own battle.

Hello guys,
I applied for I140 & I485 + EAD concurrently at the Texas service center on July 19th. I got the receipts dated Sept 11 on Sept 17 and a week later I got the EAD's. My priority date is Feb 04.
I live in New Jersey and I would assume my FP appointment will be at the NewArk USCIS center. I still did not get any FP notification yet and I started to worry because on the tracker a lot of people with the same dates did get one already. Should I worry or is OK for now ? Is New Jersey more crowded than other states and that is the reason for delay ??? Anybody else in the same boat ??
I know they consider the application abandoned if I have an appointment and don't go. If, god forbid, the letter is lost in the mail, is there any way I can find out if I have an appointment ?
I have don't have a lawyer so they will not send a copy of the FP appointment letter to the lawyer.
Please help !

I called TSC multiple time and was told first to wait till 90 days of filling ,then 30 days past receipt now 4 more weeks; since they are heavily backlogged busy in issuing receipts for 485 filer.
When i contacted my lawyer he told me the same he is still waiting for the receipts for some of his clients who filed in July/August and reassured me that if or when a receipt is issued he will also get a receipt notice, and will contact me ... so don't worry to much regarding FP misplacement and relax it will come... after all it is National security, if the US is not concerned regarding it then why should you .;)

Hi guys,
My 8th year extension was filed on June 14th. I have not heard from them since. Lawyer says he has contacted USCIS on Oct 3rd and has not heard back yet either. He has asked me to wait for one month before initiating any further communication with them. Does anyone know how long h1 processing is taking these days? I live in Texas. Now, if I want to transfer this to Premium processing:
a) is it possible to transfer now?
b) how long will the transfer take?

His statement looks valid to me since my H1 was expiring on 24th of Oct and I got my approval on 17th. My attorney also applied some other H1 cases around same time when he filed my case but he is still receiving approval on these cases one by one because other cases are little far from their H1 expiry.

You are going there for a visa as a professional ( in IT, medicine etc). Dress like a professional. Need not be in a tie, but semi formal is recommended. How you carry yourself speaks about you. There is no rule, no norm, and no guideline but when it comes to communication, non-verbal communication counts a lot.

USCIS has been sued by Citizenship hopefuls for a reason which applies to us all. The process took longer time than expected.

Of course, I am assuming your previous status was H-4. If it was F-1 or something else, I don't know if you have valid permit to return to that status

For any one in my situation (F1 to H1B), please do not let go of your valuable OPT time, in lieu of H1B, how much ever influential the consultant is (in terms of getting you a project). They would always want you to begin at the earliest so they can be assured of your services with them. Make sure they put down your begin date, only after the last date of OPT period on the H1B documentation.
So, in my situation, I do not have a valid reason to re enter the US. That is why I want to get my visa transferred over here. Considering I do not have pay stubs, a lot is dependant on my fate, I guess. Thanks for your reply.

The officer we met with mentioned that the EAD is issued only after the biometrics are done. I highly doubt this is the norm. Our FP is scheduled for Nov 21st. he said that the service center will electronically send the photo/fp to nebraska. Only then can I expect to see any movement on the EAD application.
I have heard that your FP/biometrics does not have anything to with EAD. However, this officer gave us information that is totally contrary to what we have seen in recent times. He mentioned that this is the latest procedure. He suggested that we should schedule another infopass appointment only If we do not get the EAD 3-4 weeks after the biometrics.
Any inputs from people with similar experience?
